Actress Sanjjanaa Galrani made headlines early this week when she alleged that she was harassed 12 years ago, by director Ravi Srivatsa during the shoot of the

Kannada

movie '

Ganda Hendathi

’, a remake of Bollywood film 'Murder'. Galrani claimed that Srivatsa forced her to perform in certain intimate scenes for the film that drew her close to suicide.

Srivatsa held a press conference on Wednesday, where he denied allegations of forcing or threatening her during the shoot and also made counter-allegations against Galrani, questioning her decision to malign his image. The director hit back claiming that the actress was happy with her work and even reportedly showed clips from her recent films where she had filmed bold scenes.

Now, according to a report on Deccan Chronicle, the Directors’ Association that assured its support to the

#MeToo

movement, went on to state that

Sanjjanaa

Galrani's charges against director Ravi Srivatsa, have nothing to do with the movement. The report also states that the body claimed that Sanjjanaa and a few other actresses have misused the movement.

The association has reportedly set a deadline till Friday, for Sanjjanaa to apologise to the director.
