Nagabhushana took victims to the hospital; wife died on the way, husband remains critical

Actor Nagabhushana was released on station bail hours after he was taken into custody in an accident case that led to the death of a woman and grievously injured a man. The incident took place on September 30 on Vasanthpura Main Road when the actor on his way home. The actor had returned from the US the previous day.

What happened:At 9.45 pm, Nagabhushana, who was driving towards his JP Nagar residence from RR Nagar, rammed into a couple, Prema (48) and Krishna (58), who had come out for a walk, and swerved into an electric pole. The actor is said to have immediately taken the victims to the hospital in an autorickshaw after his car failed to start post the accident. It has been reported that Prema passed away on the way to the hospital, and Krishna was still critical and in the ICU at the time of going to press. Nagabhushana surrendered to the police and admitted having been driving the car that caused the accident.

The situation now: “Nagabhushana was arrested, and necessary medical tests and protocol have proved that he was not intoxicated at the time of the accident. A case of negligent driving has been registered against him and he has been given a station bail. Nagabhushana has stated that the accident occurred after the couple abruptly got off the footpath and on to the road,” says a source close to the development.
