Not taking up Love Mocktail 3 just because it’s a safe bet: Krishna

The actor-director recently announced LM-3, which he and his wife are developing into a series of stories

On Ugadi, Darling Krishna announced that Love Mocktail 3 is in the offing, and it has fans hooked. The story of Aadi played by Krishna, and Nidhima played by Milana Nagaraj has won fans’ hearts. Love Mocktail 3 will take another three months to go on floors, confirms Krishna. Krishna’s Aadi complements Milana’s Nidhima, his wife, in real and reel life through this film franchise. Now, Milana is also helping develop the storyline.
The actor-director is happy that a majority of fans are excited about the upcoming instalment, even as a few wonder if the third sequel will match the others.
“The ones not in favour are viewers who liked the previous two films, and are apprehensive about us not doing a good job with the third flick. I want to assure them that be it Love Mocktail 1 or 2, I only plunged into it when I was confident that I had done justice to the story,” says Krishna.
The films gave Krishna a huge career break. Whether Love Mocktail 3 is a safe bet, he answers, “Business-wise, it might be a safe bet as I know what it can generate for me. But story-wise, it will be greatly challenging because it has to ace the previous two. So, I can’t assume that I have a safety net in terms of the story. I have my task cut out on how to take this forward,” he states.
Krishna shares that Love Mocktail was a script he wrote in 20 days; and the sequel took four months to finish. “When we made Love Mocktail, the climax was what came to my mind first. I developed the story along the way. It was the same with the sequel. It’s the interest of people that motivated us to do this. For Love Mocktail 3, the idea struck me eight months ago. I have the climax in mind, and Milana and I are developing the story; she’s been involved in the writing of all three instalments. Milana’s character of Nidhima, which has struck an emotional chord with fans, will continue in essence in this film, too,” sums up Krishna.
