Newly surfaced details in the Renuka Swamy murder case have implicated Pavithra Gowda, an actress and close friend of Kannada actor Darshan Thoogudeepa, in the brutal torture and subsequent murder of Renukaswamy, a 33-year-old fan of the Kannada actor.
Renukaswamy was found murdered and discarded in a drain in Kamakshipalya, Bengaluru, on June 8. According to the report, he was abducted from his hometown in Chitradurga by several individuals and transported 200 kilometers away to a shed in Bengaluru. It is alleged that both Pavithra Gowda and Darshan were present during his torture.
The police report, highlighted by NDTV, states that Renuka Swamy was brutally beaten with sticks and subjected to electric shocks. Pavithra Gowda reportedly witnessed these assaults and actively participated at times. The actress allegedly beat Renukaswamy with slippers, an accusation supported by a remand note presented in court. This remand note indicates that Pavithra Gowda was the instigator, while Darshan played a direct role in the murder.
Police investigations reportedly revealed that a gang member associated with Darshan, identified as Dhanaraj alias Raja, was responsible for administering electric shocks to Renuka Swamy. Authorities seized an 'Electric Shock Torch' from Raja's residence, further implicating him in the crime.
In connection with the murder, the police have arrested Pavithra Gowda, Darshan Thoogudeepa, and 15 others. The investigation uncovered that Renuka Swamy was abducted and tortured to death, allegedly orchestrated by Darshan Thoogudeepa and his associates. Items such as slippers, clothing, and other materials linked to the crime were seized from Pavithra Gowda's residence.
The investigation is ongoing, with police considering approaching Meta to retrieve data related to messages shared by Renuka Swamy on his Instagram account, which have since been deleted. This data could provide further insights into the events leading up to his abduction and murder.
