Pawan Kumar to helm multi-lingual film with Fahadh Faasil and Aparna

Fahadh Faasil, a household name today, has been roped in for a multi-lingual film to be helmed by Kannada director Pawan Kumar.
Titled Dhoomam, the film is being made in all south languages and will also see National Award-winning actor Aparna Balamurali on board.
“A project with Fahadh has been on our mind for the past one-and-a-half years. And it all came together in April, when Fahadh gave the nod to Pawan’s script, on hearing it,” shares Karthik Gowda, creative producer of the production house backing it.
He adds, “Fahadh has always been known for his superlative acting and it was further driven home during the lockdown as everyone was exposed to the kind of work he was doing. And being the kind of monster that Fahadh is in acting, we needed a leading lady who could match his acting prowess. And that’s how Aparna Balamurali came in. She was our first choice and her role is equally powerful and we are confident Aparna will do full justice to the film,” states Karthik.

He observes how cross-cultural talent exchange is taking place today and that the Kannada industry is being viewed with respect. “Directors and actors are being chosen from our industry by other industries and that’s a matter of pride,” he says.
Pawan, known for his innovative films, first wrote Nicotine in 2008. “Since then, it’s been reworked, the screenplay re-written and it has now come to the final form in Dhoomam. The movie is a thriller that is based on tobacco. Besides, we all know the kind of terrific actors that Fahadh and Aparna are and I’m looking forward to the film going on floors on October 9,” says Pawan.
