Prabhu Srinivas makes a dark comedy during the pandemic

The film has Manoj, Guruprasad and Aaradhya in the lead

Filmmaker Prabhu Srinivas

of

Ganapa

fame was supposed to work on the Dhananjaya-starrer Daali, but the project’s planned scale meant that it had to be put on hold. In the meantime, he went ahead and made another film, a dark comedy called Body God.

Revealing more details, Prabhu shares, "We shot for this film in the time that filming activities resumed between the two waves of the pandemic. Guruprasad, Manoj and Aaradhya play the lead roles in the film that is laced with black humour and deals with an important issue that society faces." While Manoj is the son of

MLA Kumaraswamy

, Aaradhya is popular for her online content.

The filmmaker adds that they have a promotional song for the film left to shoot. Quiz him on the quirky title of the film and all he will say is, “The title is relevant to the content of the film. There’s an ideology that says ‘dehane devaru’, so this can be related to that.”

Interestingly, this is a script that Prabhu wrote seven years ago and revived now. "Initially, I wanted to do this film immediately after Ganapa. Since I had time during the pandemic and my other project was delayed, I chose to revive this film, and shot it in a single 35-day schedule," he adds.
