No place for movies, only photo shoots?

At a time when filmmakers across the country are finding it difficult to get permission to shoot inside the Mysore Palace, a couple has managed to get a pre-wedding photo shoot done inside the iconic Amba Vilas Palace. A one-minute video and pictures of the couple inside the Palace are creating a buzz on social media. According to reports, a Hyderabad-based studio is behind the shoot, which apparently happened in January this year. Deputy Commissioner C Shikha, who is also the executive officer of Mysore Palace Board, has ordered a probe into the incident. Mysore Palace Board Deputy Director, TS Subramanya, says, 'We don't know how they managed to shoot inside the Palace. We have lodged a complaint with ACP V Shylendra, who is investigating the case. CCTV footage will be examined to determine when the shoot occurred.'
MAYURA WAS THE LAST FILM TO BE SHOT INSIDE the PALACE The historical Kannada film Mayura, which starred Rajkumar and was released in 1975, was shot inside the Mysore Palace. Since then, palace authorities have not given permission to shoot any other film. Even when the makers of the Tamil film Lingaa, which starred Rajinikanth, sought permission to shoot inside the Palace, it was denied, and they made do by shooting at the residential portion of the Palace.
