Puneet is furious on implicit comments

Puneet Rajkumar questions distributors credibility, following the latters veiled attack on the Rajkumar family
Puneet is furious on implicit comments
The Power Star is not one to usually let his emotions run high. But ask Puneet Rajkumar about his thoughts on distributor Prasads recent implicit comments that his family produces films without a storyline, and he doesnt mince any words.
Id heard about Prasads statement a few days ago, but didnt want to publicly react to it.
1x1 polls
I wanted to give him a piece of my mind the next time we met. In fact, I wouldn't have bothered reacting to it had it not been for some sections of the media who broached the issue with me, states Puneet. The actor adds, My family does not pass comments on anyone and it was wrong on Prasads part to make sweeping statements about our family and banner.
Besides, Prasad is way too inexperienced in the ways of the industry to make such an observation, says Puneet. Who is Prasad and what is his contribution to Sandalwood? What right does he have to talk about my family? asks a livid Puneet.
But could Prasads alleged statement be an offshoot of his deal going sour with the Rajkumars production he backed out of distributing Anna Bond at the last minute. Puneet nixes this theory. Business has nothing to do with it. Whether Prasad had taken up the distribution of Anna Bond or not, the film wouldve been sold and got its due. If the deal didnt work out thats his problem and he should be the one to sort it out, says the actor, adding that Prasad ought to do a recce on the films that are doing well. For someone who comments on our films, Prasad should perhaps start buying the right films that will do well, he says.
I did not target the Rajkumar family
When distributor Prasad said that production houses with a good track record have started making films based on one-line scripts that are marketed with a big star as its selling point, little did he think that it would be construed as a veiled attack on the Rajkumar family. I have the highest regard for the Rajkumar family and havent bad-mouthed their banner). I made a general comment about the new trend of filmmaking and the harm it does to distributors. There are other banners thatve made over 50 films in Sandalwood besides the Rajkumar banner, so I dont understand why they were dragged into this, says Prasad, who recently bought the audio rights to Shivarajkumars next film. But was the comment based on the deal gone bad between him and the Rajkumar family over Anna Bond, and he laughs it off. Our business ties may have strained, but that doesnt mean that I will indulge in tasteless gimmicks. I may do business with them in the future too, says Prasad.
