NEW DELHI: Callum Hudson-Odoi scored a stunning goal to give Nottingham Forest a surprising 1-0 win over Liverpool at Anfield on Saturday. This victory marked Forest's first win at Anfield since 1969.Liverpool controlled the first half, with Luis Diaz hitting the near post in the 17th minute and Mohamed Salah setting up Dominik Szoboszlai, who headed just wide shortly after. However, Forest's defense, led by Alex Moreno, effectively kept Salah in check throughout the match.Towards the end of the first half, Liverpool had several close attempts. Forest's goalkeeper Matz Sels made crucial saves, notably from a Carlos Mac Allister header and a tricky Trent Alexander-Arnold corner.Sels nearly caused an own goal by mishandling a Diaz header but managed to recover just in time.Despite their numerous chances, Liverpool couldn't find the net. Hudson-Odoi capitalized on this in the 72nd minute with a well-placed shot after receiving a crossfield pass from Anthony Elanga.Liverpool, having won their first three league games under coach Arne Slot without conceding a goal, struggled to create clear opportunities. Their best chance for an equalizer came from a Virgil van Dijk header that went over the crossbar. The win was celebrated jubilantly by the Forest players and fans, leaving Liverpool to reflect on a missed opportunity.
