He was born into a celebrity family; his parents, Dr. Rajkumar and Parvathamma Rajkumar, were in the film business. His father, an actor, would bring him and his sister to sets all the time.
After completing his education, he tried his hand at a business that did not pan out. After that, he became a production manager in his family’s company. His debut as a production manager came with ‘Geluvina Saradara.’
In the early 2000s, he dabbled in acting himself for the first time since his childhood years. His debut role as an artist came with ‘Appu,’ a film he is still remembered for to this date. Over the years, the actor worked extensively in Kannada films and accumulated many records and awards. Some of his most famed works include ‘Veera Kannadiga’, ‘Raajakumara’, ‘Raam’, and ‘Natasaarvabhowma’.
Puneeth Rajkumar passed away in 2021 due to a sudden cardiac arrest.
