Rachita Ram signs Velaiilla Pattadhari remake

Actress Rachita Ram's starry run in Sandalwood continues. She has been roped in as the female lead in the Kannada remake of the Tamil film Velaiilla Pattadhari. This film, which saw Dhanush and Amala Paul in the lead in the original, will have Manoranjan Ravichandaran playing the male lead opposite Rachita. Nanda Kishore will be directing this film, which is slated to go on floors soon. A source close to the project reveals, 'The team met with Rachita earlier this week and discussed the modalities. She is officially on board, but they are yet to make an announcement about the same.' Earlier, there were reports that Amala might reprise her role from the original, but it doesn't seem to be the case with this new development.
