As per the

latest reports

, challenging star Darshan will resume shooting for the historical movie Rajaveera Madakari Nayaka, from October. The film, directed by Rajendra Singh Babu, went on floors in February and had its

first schedule

of

shoot

in Kerala.

As the team was gearing up for the second schedule, the lockdown was imposed and suspended all shooting activities. Since the film demands a large crew which violates the guidelines issued by the government, the team had decided to postpone shooting till the situation returns to normalcy. But now, the team is planning to resume shooting from October. The film, based on the works of writer

BL Venu

, sees Darshan in the role of Madakari Nayaka, who is the last ruler of Chitradurga and is considered one of the greatest Nayakas of Chitradruga.

Apart from Darshan,

Sumalatha Ambareesh

is on board. Prior to the official announcement, the team had visited Chitradurga which was once ruled by Madakari Nayaka. They had placed a garland on the statue amidst a large number of Darshan's fans. The film heroine is yet to be finalized. The buzz was that actress Nayanathra has been roped in for the project, but nothing has been confirmed officially.
