Prashanth Neel hit the big screen on April 14, and the film has been smashing all the box-office numbers ever since then. While the film continues to attract the audience nearly a month after its initial release, filmmaker
Ram Gopal Varma has spoken about how ‘KGF: Chapter 2’ is affecting other big-ticket films and collections.
The filmmaker shared a series of tweets on Thursday (May 12), wherein he expressed his concern on how the blockbuster is casting a shadow on other big-ticket releases.
“I think #KGF2 is like an enoromous tree under whose shadow, no tree seems to be growing,” Ram Gopal Varma said in his first tweet.
“#KGF2 is like a large dark cloud casting a doomsday shadow on all the other big films and the black clouds torrential collections are draining all other stars and star directors,” he added.
He went on to add that the Yash starrer is like quicksand, that is swallowing the ‘old fashion’ big-ticket releases. “#KGF2 is like a quick sand just swallowing up all old fashioned biggies,” he tweeted.
On Friday (May 13), Ram Gopal Varma compared Bollywood with the South cinema. “The way SOUTH films seem to be going in theatres and NORTH films don’t seem to be going, it looks like BOLLYWOOD should be soon making films only for OTT 😳,” he tweeted.
Meanwhile, according to the latest reports, ‘KGF: Chapter 2’ has earned Rs 1175.63 crore worldwide in 28 days.
