For the last couple of months, Kannada actor Darshan Thoogudeepa has been under scrutiny for the alleged murder of Renukaswamy and has spent more than 100 days in prison. He, with his legal team, had filed for a bail plea all over the internet. Now, a court on September 30 adjourned the hearing of a bail plea filed by him. Along with the jailed Kannada actor, the hearing of his rumored girlfriend and actress Pavithra Gowda and others accused of murder was also adjourned.

The case was heard at the 57th Additional City Civil and Sessions Court. Darshan's advocate, Sunil Kumar, sought more time to place his arguments. He quoted objections by the special public prosecutor and stated that a senior member from Darshan's end was absent as he wanted to attend for personal reasons. Justice Jaishankar allowed his request and asked the case to be presented once again on October 4 as per a Pinkvilla report.

For the uninitiated, Darshan was arrested in June and gained significant attention due to its violent nature.

Reports indicate that Renuka Swamy, the victim, had made derogatory comments about Pavithra Gowda about her damaging the marriage of Darshan. This allegedly incited Darshan to orchestrate revenge. The victim was lured to a farmhouse under false pretenses and was later tortured and murdered.
