RJ Nethra’s latest flick turns focus on the concept of Talaq

“I've always felt there are plenty of untold stories of women waiting to be narrated. I've probably manifested this over a period of time and that’s how I came to be a part of Talaq, Talaq, Talaq,” says an upbeat Nethra as the film was screened to a packed house at

BIFFES

on Tuesday. “I play Noor Jahan who is a vulnerable and a helpless home maker whose life revolves around her family. She hails from a conservative muslim family and is married to an alcoholic. Her world turns upside down when her husband pronounces Talaq in the fit of rage one drunk night. What happens next is a roller coaster of emotions for her,” shares Nethra.

The RJ and actor shares that it was extremely challenging for her owing to its emotional content. “Being a woman, we shudder at the thought of such things and there are women who have faced these for years. There were times when I carried these emotions even after pack up and the story haunted me for days. It's something close to my heart and will always remain special,” she adds.
