The meteorological department has raised an alarm for Bengaluru, predicting heavy rains and thunderstorms in parts of the city over the next few days. “Monsoon is retreating, and therefore, thunderstorm-like weather conditions and rainfall associated with thunderstorms can be intense at parts of Bengaluru over the coming days. People are advised to stay safe, especially, during the afternoons, late afternoons and late evenings. Rainfall intensity could be very high, and the downpour might even cause flooding. Hence, it is advisable to take precautions and stay indoors,” says Dr Geetha Agnihotri, Director-in-charge of the Meteorological Centre, Bengaluru. Keeping the rain showers in mind, Bangalore Times talks to celebs, asking them about their weekend plans. And here’s what they have to say...
Good opportunity to spend time with family“I think this is nature’s way to tell us to stay at home and spend time with family. In fact, this is what I plan to do. Usually, many of us would love to just go out for a long drive and, probably, chill at a roadside chai shop, but I think it is really unsafe to indulge in such thrills, as every day we get to hear about near-fatal incidents taking place due to heavy rains,” says actress Sreeleela. Speaking along the lines, actor
Skanda Ashok says, “Staying at home has never been a bad idea for me. Maybe, I’ll cook something new or help my wife and mother in the kitchen.”
Sreeleela also plans to indulge in some indoor games with her family members. “Probably, sipping on a hot cup of coffee and playing antakshari or dumb charades with my family would be fun,” she adds.
Watching movies and work out at the gymFor many, the rains are also the perfect time to hit the couch and watch movies or their favourite series on various streaming sites. “I am going to sit back and enjoy the weekend watching some series on one of the media-services platforms,” says
J Karthik
. And since hitting the gym and fitness has always been his topmost priority, he would brave the rain and hit the gym as well.
Perfect time to contemplate...For many, the wet weather is also the perfect time to contemplate the future. Skanda, who has now wrapped up Radha Ramana, will take this time to contemplate and discuss new projects with his family. “Will look at the new project offers and discuss it with my family and contemplate my next move,” he says. “I would also like to spend time at home doing some preparations for my upcoming projects, which include a Hindi film release and another Kannada film that I am working on,” sums up Karthik.
