Sandalwood poster designer and director, Mastan succumbs to COVID-19

Veteran Sandalwood poster designer and director, Mastan breathed his last on Wednesday night at a private hospital in Bengaluru. He was 63. The funeral rites will be held today.

In his career spanning over 42 years, Mastan has worked as a poster designer for over 2,000 movies. Having worked as a poster designer for over four decades, Mastan has also directed a few movies like Shuklambaradharam, Kaleshi Malleshi and Seethara. The death of Mastan due to Covid-19 has shocked his friends, family and Sandalwood, who are now mourning his death.

This is the second COVID-19 related death in Sandalwood in the current year. On April 18, actor and producer Dr D S Manjunath passed away due to Covid-19. Manjunath was also seen in a cameo in Chemistry of Cariappa, which had Chandan Achar and Sanjana Anand in lead roles and got a reasonably good response at the box office.
