Ever since the release of

Ondu Motteya Kathe

, actor-director Raj B Shetty has been a busy man. Apart from being approached for multiple projects, his search for an interesting characters has landed him a negative role in the film titled

Ammachi Yemba Nenapu

. The film is an adaptation of

Akku

, a play that blends three short stories by

Kannada

fiction writer and poet

Janaki Srinivasa Murthy

, popularly known as Vaidehi. Ammachi, which will be shot in Kundapura Kannada, is about women’s empowerment.
Champa P Shetty, who had directed this play for stage, marks her directorial debut with this film, in which the ammachi from the play becomes the main character. The makers apparently decided to rope in Raj for his artistic versatality, which he showed off with his humourous acting and crisp direction in Ondu Motteya Kathe, and are very happy with the way he has pulled off his negative role.
The film's music has been composed by

Pandith Kashinath Pattar

, a classical singer and teacher. Other members of the cast include Radhakrishna Urala, Puttamma Athe, Deepika Aaradhya, Vyjayanthi Adiga and Diya.
