Earlier this year,
Sriimurali was in Varanasi, shooting for his next,
Madagaja
. The team was then set to head to Mysuru, but the lockdown put their plans on hold, like it did for the rest of the film industry.
Instead of whiling away their time, though, they made the best of the lockdown, says filmmaker
Umapathy S
says, "Since director
Prashanth Neel has been supervising the script work for the Mahesh-directorial, he worked on the story, based on footage we had from our shoot in Uttar Pradesh. He's elevated the script to make it suitable to a wider audience."
Lead actor Sriimurali says, "It was really sweet of Prashanth to help us with the story. Madagaja is going to be a film that will entertain and be similar to the image and tone of
Ugramm
. Apart from fine-tuning the script, we have also worked on the music, with composer Ravi Basrur."
The team is now hopeful that the government will give the film industry the go ahead for shoots soon and want to plan a schedule in Mysuru in July.
