Kannada film Sugar Factory, starring Krishna, Sonal Monteiro, Adhvithi Shetty and Ruhani Shetty in lead roles, is releasing today. The movie is directed by Deepak Aras, under the banner Balamani Productions. Producer R Girish says, “This film, with an ensemble cast, has all the ingredients to be a complete entertainer. The story revolves around a pub called Sugar Factory in Goa, where all the drama unfolds.” Meanwhile, Deepak Aras shares that he picked a real-life incident as the premise of the film. “The incident took place in Bengaluru, in 2018, right in front of me. I felt it would make for an enriching plot that also connects to Gen Z. The story begins and ends in a pub,” explains Deepak. Incidentally, it also depicts how the young generation relates to the concept of love and relationships. “It focuses on people whose priorities in life differ and are unable to express their feelings. It drives home a social message too, but in an entertaining way. We have also shot in Kazakhstan which will be a visual delight,” Deepak says.
