had an emotional Monday morning as she remembered her

father

, late V Madan Mohan on his 50th death anniversary. The actress shared an image of him as she recalled how it might be 50 years since his passing but he is alive through their memories of him and his legacy.

Sharing a picture post, Sumalatha wrote, "My Dad..Madan Mohan.. 50 years since he passed away.. Always remembered with love" In the post, Sumalatha wrote, "50 years since you left.. Half a century without you.. A lifetime of memories... crammed into the 7 years of childhood.. Dad.. always the most special man."

Sumalatha's father was a noted technician. On the popular show Weekend With Ramesh, Sumalatha had reminisced his memories and his work. On that show, they had shown her clipping of the special effects her father was responsible for during the 50s-70s, these were for south Indian films as well as in

Bollywood

. Sumalatha also had recalled how her father, at that time, was the only Indian Special Effects artist to go to the United Kingdom to train in creating visual effected.

Some of the films he contributed to are, Munimji (1955), Man Ki Aankhen (1970) and Gambler (1971). Many industry people started referring to him as the Chief Of Optics at the time. Sumalatha since went on to become one of the most popular actresses of her time and still continues to work in films. Her family's legacy continues as her son Abishek Ambareesh is an actor now and is working on his second film already.
