As a filmmaker, Prashant Raj likes having a rapport with his crew and cast, which is why he collaborates with them repeatedly. After three films with composer Joshua Sridhar, Prashant had to find someone else for his fourth, as Joshua was busy, and he zeroed in on S Thaman. And when the music of that film,

onboard again to compose for Ganesh. “I am a big fan of Thaman’s music. He is a pucca commercial music composer. As soon as you listen to any of his songs, there is an immediate impact. Most importantly, he knows what I want for my film,” says Prashant about the composer.
In their second film together,

Orange

, Thaman has come up with four songs. “A couple of them were composed when we went on a drive. Thaman asked me to come up with some lyrics on the spot, which he set to tune while still in the car. It was sounding good, so he insisted that we retain those lyrics. His music is one of the major pillars of Orange,” adds Prashant.
Thaman says that when he heard the story, he thought that the film needed an upbeat commercial soundtrack. “We decided to keep it to four songs that would take the narrative forward, instead of forcing anything extra into it,” says Thaman.
