The films I have done this year have set a foundation for the new year

... says Hariprriya
It’s been a busy year for Hariprriya, with four films releasing and another eight that are in various stages of production, which should have her set for 2019. She may be living out of a suitcase and burning the midnight oil, but Hariprriya has no complaints.

“I am loving this phase of my career. When I started out nearly 11 years ago as a 16 year old, I had no filmi connections and no one to help me further my career. After I started doing Telugu and Tamil films that did well, people here started taking note of me, and since my return to

Kannada

cinema, there has been no looking back. I’m proud that I have a different role in every film. Of course, based on the characters I have played, there have been offers with similar roles, but I have consciously chosen not to take them up. In the process, I think I have managed to not get typecast and filmmakers are offering me roles that they say have been written for me,” says Hariprriya.

The actress is ending 2018 on a high, with like

Kurukshetra

, Soojidhara, D/O Parvathamma, Bell Bottom,

Katha Sangama

and Kannada Gothilla, as well as the two that she has just started — Ellide Illi Thanaka and Bicchugatti. “Generally, people say that a heroine’s shelf life is about 4-5 years and that she should make the most of it. I have been around for 11 years and my career is going rock steady. As an artiste, I couldn’t have asked for more, as I am getting the kind of roles that most people only dream of,” says Hariprriya.

Currently, she is hopping between the sets of Ellide Illi Thanaka and Bicchugatti, as an interior designer in a romantic comedy in the former and a real-life person Sidhambe in the latter. “While Ellide... with Srujan Lokesh is a laugh riot, Bicchugatti will be a lesson in history for audiences and me,” she signs off.
