The sequel to 2008 Upendra-starrer, Buddhivanta, which is titled Buddhivanta-2 is all set to release on September 15, just three days before his birthday.
The movie, which took off before Covid, has taken a while to arrive at theatres. Previously, when the team had released the first-look poster, fans had drawn comparison with Hollywood film, Mad Max. However, the makers have assured that the movie has nothing to do with the Hollywood film.
Starring Upendra, Meghana Raj and Sonal Monterio in the lead roles, the movie has Upendra playing a dual role. The first franchise, which was a remake of Tamil film, Naan Avanillai, had Upendra playing 8 different avatars. The sequel also has Srinagara Kitty in a negative role. There is no clarity about if the sequel is a remake too, of Naan Avanillai -2, with additional signature Upendra style.
