to hit screens. The film had released shortly before the

pandemic

brought everything to a standstill. Directed by Radhakrishna Reddy, the film revolves around demonetisation and follows a police officer and a conman, both in dire need of money.

And now, we hear that the film has been picked up for a Tamil remake. Considering that

Kannada cinema

often gets brickbats for depending on films from other industries for inspiration, it comes as refreshing news that a movie from here will head to another industry. According to reports, filmmaker Sundar C, actress-politician Kushboo’s husband, has procured the remake rights of the film for a Tamil version.To be directed by a long-time associate of Sundar, called Badri, the comedy flick will have Prasanna, Shaam, Ashwin Kakumanu, and Yogi Babu in pivotal roles. Sundar, will only produce the film, as he is busy with his own directorial, the third part in the Aranmanai series, shooting of which has been held up owing to the pandemic.

The title track of the original, composed by Midhun Mukundan and sung by SP Balasubrahmanyam, incidentally, was a dance number picturised on Puneeth Rajkumar himself.
