Venkatesh's daughter bags another movie

Venkatesh's daughter bags another movie
Kruthika Jayaram, who made a chance entry into films, is now drawing attention of both Sandalwood and Tollywood. After playing Venkatesh's daughter in the Telugu version of Drushyam, the Bengaluru student was noticed by local filmmakers. Director Preetham Gubbi cast her as the female lead in last week's release Boxer. Just days after the release, Kruthika's performance in the film has drawn more attention.

Kruthika's second Telugu film Vinavayya Ramayya released earlier this year.
Director Nagachandra has already approached her to play the female lead in his next film Jogi Gudda opposite Dharma Keerthiraj. Nagachandra had finalised the rest of the cast that includes Ravishankar, Avinash, Raju Talikote and Biradar among others but had not been able to zero in on the leading lady. Kruthika was in the reckoning for the leading lady's role even before her performance as a blind girl in Boxer became a talking point in the last few days. Dharma Keerthiraj, whose much-hyped Mumtaz with Sharmiela Mandre failed to give him the break is on another mission with Jogi Gudda. Nagchandra who has usually cast newcomers including Tharun Sudheer in his debut film Vidyarthi says his new film is about a localised love story.
“Jogi Matti is a real place in Chitradurga. Matti means hill but has a very localised usage, so I used the word Gudda, which also means the same. The love story takes place in Chitradurga and it will have a very local flavour.“ Shooting for the new film is expected to start on December 18. Meanwhile composer Jessie Gift is composing the tunes for Kaviraj's lyrics for it.
