Vijay Raghavendra is trail-blazing onto a new path. As the only one to star in Raaghu, a solo actor’s movie, he enters into the realm of something rarely attempted in Sandalwood. The film, helmed by M Anand Raj, also marks his debut in Sandalwood and portrays Vijay in multiple shades.
The challenges of performing as a solo actor, Vijay explains, “In normal films, we react based on the performance of the opposing characters, but in this film, I have acted based on imagination. That was exciting, and I was ably guided by the director.”

Thrills and chillsA debut and a solo feature, sees director Anand inspired, “Raaghu is a new-age fast-paced thriller. When the story was penned, it was an ordinary one with a multiple star cast. Then I thought a single actor with maturity and skills can do justice to the script which has a nonlinear pattern of narration. Even Vijay was blown away by the story. He felt that this movie stands out compared to the 57 other films he has done in the past. Without compromising on quality, we have erected huge sets to create original fire (scenes), a tunnel, and there is an underwater scene which makes the entire movie gripping. There are also plenty of twists and turns which fit into a commercial genre.”
