For director
Mussanje Mahesh, his next, MMCH, produced by Purushottam, Janaki Ram and Aravindu for Aishwarya Film Productions, is special on many levels. For starters, he is bringing to the screen a real-life story that occurred many years ago in Mysuru. “The story of MMCH is based on a real incident that was not reported much. It deals with a bunch of friends and explores what friendship really is in today’s day and age.
Is it only about sharing all your happy moments or will they stand by you even in your sorrow or when you are in trouble? How will they react if one of them has an issue? What sacrifices are they willing to make for their friendship? This and more is what the film is about,” says Mahesh.
There are five lead actresses —
Meghana Raj,
Samyukta Hornad,
Nakshatra D Babu and Prathama — all children of yesteryear actresses, as well as
Ragini Dwivedi, in the role of a police officer. While Meghana is the daughter of Pramila Joshai, Samyukta’s mom is Sudha Belawadi, Nakshatra’s is Sumitra, and Prathama’s is Vinaya Prasad. “Back in the day, the film Navagraha starred actor sons, so, I thought it would be novel to have a bunch of star daughters in my film,” explains Mahesh. MMCH also marks the director’s eighth collaboration with composer Sridhar V Sambhram.
This is my first collaboration with director Mussanje Mahesh. What struck me when he narrated the story was that it was a youthful subject with a very pertinent message at its core. Having five heroines in the lead, four of whom are star children, was an added bonus
