Actor Yashas Surya recently wrapped up a week-long schedule for his upcoming film Garadi at historical sites in Badami. The movie, which marks his collaboration with Yogaraj Bhat, sees him sharing screen space with Sonal Monteiro.

The plot of the movie revolves around wrestling, which is prominent in

North and South Karnataka

. where the film has been extensively shot. “Shooting in Badami was a fantastic experience. The temples and caves showcase rich traditional Indian art. I feel like filmmakers can explore a lot more in North Karnataka. I enjoyed eating jowar

roti

, which helped me stick to my diet. With summer already here, it was hard to shoot amid rocks with soaring temperatures for the first couple of days, but we soon got acclimatised to the local conditions. We have also shot two songs there,” says Yashas, who plays a wrestler in the movie.
On working with actor and minister BC Patil, who is making a comeback with this film, Yashas shares, “Although he hasn't faced the camera in a long time, his acting is impeccable and his energy infectious. He climbed the steps in Badami in no time. He is always jovial and calm, which makes things easy for all of us.”
