Kannada film industry is one of the fastest growing industries in India. Consistently, the Kannada film industry is producing movies in different genres. Some movies are masala entertainers and some are content driven subjects. There are many great legends like actors Rajkumar, Shakarnag, Vishnu Vardhan and directors like Puttanna Kanagal who helped in building the Kannada industry. 'Ondu Muttina Kathe' was one of the first Kannada movies shot underwater directed by Shankar Nag and Rajkumar played a major role. Pavan Kumar produced the movie ‘Lucia’ for Sandalwood audience with crowdfunding and it is the first ever crowdfunded movie in Kannada film industry.
