Bengaluru-based musician Aneesh Vidyashankar’s (aka Walking Violinist) performance was one of the highlights at Vasishta Simha and Hariprriya’s wedding reception. Held on Saturday at the Golden Palms Hotel and Spa, the event saw the industry’s bigwigs attend.

“Violin is Vasishta’s most favourite musical instrument. He told me he was sure that he wanted me to perform at his event. Besides, we have known each other for a while. So it didn’t feel like I was performing for a celebrity. It felt more like doing a show for my family,” shares Aneesh.

The highlight of the event was the grand entry of the newlyweds. Aneesh shares, “The whole thing was well curated for the couple. For their entry, I took two of their songs—Vasishta’s Marete Hodenu and Hariprriya’s Yethake and combined it. We played this version as they walked down the aisle to a bridge where the couple exchanged garlands. Vasishta and I had planned the whole thing. Most of it was a surprise for Hariprriya who had no idea what to expect.”

Aneesh further shares, “Another thing we did was make the experience customised for the guests as well. There were celebrities like Ramesh Aravind, Rishab Shetty, Hamsalekha ji, Upendra, among many others present. So whenever a particular actor or musician came on stage, we played their song. We also included several Kannada numbers in the setlist to make the event extra special.”
