A stage act of relevance

Maasti Kallu aims to celebrate Kannada literature
This play, unlike the original script which was about Roopa Kanwar, the Sati case in Rajasthan, has turned out into a love story. Shivaram Karanth in his

Sarasammana Samadhi

narrates how different women will behave in situations similar to Roopa Kanwar.

Maasti Kallu

’s reference is taken to prove to people that love exists in all situations and Maasti Kallu refers to our drama script as being witness to one such instance. That instance is the gist of the play.
Maasti Kallu is Prakasam’s 16th production, written and directed by Giriraj BM. This love story is inspired from

Shivarama Karanth

’s epic novel titled Sarasammana Samadhi. This Kannada drama aims to celebrate Kannada literature.
