Sanchari Theatre releases the latest edition of its Abhyasa Malike series

‘Abhyasa Malike’ has previously featured theatreperson Sathyashree KS, who had presented a story, titled ‘Sathya’, from a collection of Sufi stories translated by Jogi. Founded in 2004, Sanchari Theatre has been working for the growth and development of Kannada theatre. The theatre group’s popular plays include ‘Urmila’, ‘Arahanta’, ‘Kamalamani Kamidi Kalyana’, ‘Kailasam Keechaka’, ‘Dhareyolagina Rajakarana’, ‘Narigaligeke Kodilla’, ‘Pinocchio’, ‘Vanity Bag’, ‘Sridevi Mahathme’, ‘No Presents Please’, ‘Venicina Vyapara’, ‘Nidranagari’ and ‘Bhagavadajukeeya’. The group was established with the goal to promote stagecraft and dramas. It was formed by well-known theatrepersons Mangala, Rangayana Raghu and Gajanana T Naik. It has produced plays by a number of Kannada writers as well as the Kannada translations of plays written by William Shakespeare and other foreign writers.
Known for staging plays in different parts of the country, more than 50 actors work under the troupe. It also carries out annual theatre workshops for aspiring theatre artistes, while it also holds in-house and residential workshops for children in the memory of BV Karanth and Prema Karanth.
