and also one of the most talented stars in Indian cinema. The duo has acted together in over 50 films and most of the time their collaborations result in box-office hits!

But did you know that Mammootty and Mohanlal have played brothers in films? Yes, you read it right. The duo has worked together in a film titled ‘

Iniyengilum

’. The 1983 film featured Mammootty and Mohanlal as brothers. Mammootty played the elder brother Diwakaran, who is a politician and Mohanlal played his brother Ravi, an idealist.

IV Sasi directed the film and T Damodaran crafted the screenplay. Mohanlal, Mammootty, and Seema played the lead character. The film was majorly filmed in Japan. Interestingly Mohanlal visited Japan for the first time, while he was filming for ‘Iniyengilum’. Ratheesh, Lalu Alex, Ranipadmini, TG Ravi, and Adoor Bhasi played some pivotal roles in the film.

The film was commercially successful and the audience loved watching Mammootty and Mohanlal sharing the screen.
