How Mohanlal won the 2255 number
The fancy number KL-07 DJ 2255 was auctioned at the Ernakulam RTO on Monday. Reports say that Mohanlal bought the number for Rs 1.80 lakh. The number will be fixed on his new Innova Hycross. The vehicle is worth around Rs.33 lakh.
The auction was held online. It was conducted under the supervision of Ernakulam Joint RTO C.D. Arun. Three people took part in the bidding. The auction started at Rs 10,000. The price slowly went up and reached Rs 1.45 lakh. At that point Mohanlal’s representative raised the bid to Rs 1.80 lakh. After that, the other bidders stepped back. A registration fee of Rs 5,000 was also paid. The auction was needed because two other people had also applied for the same number.
