53rd Kerala State Film Awards: Mahesh Narayanan bags the Best Director award for ‘Ariyippu’

As this year’s Kerala State Film Awards get announced, the promising director Mahesh Narayanan bags the award for Best Director for the movie ‘Ariyippu’ starring Kunchacko Boban and Divya Prabha in the lead.

‘Ariyippu’ helmed by Mahesh Narayanan, told the story of a couple working in a factory and their life entering into a mishap as a scandalous video goes viral. The movie received mostly positive responses from the audiences, especially for Mahesh Narayanan’s exceptional direction and the acting by Divya Prabha and Kunchacko Boban. ‘Ariyippu’ also featured the actors Faisal Malik, Loveleen Mishra, Danish Husain, and Kannan Arunachalam in significant roles.

On the other hand, megastar Mammootty has bagged the Best Actor Award for his stunning performance in the Lijo Jose Pellissery’s directorial ‘Nanpakal Nerathu Mayakkam’

The awards were announced by the Minister of Cultural Affairs at the PR, Chamber Secretariat, Saji Cheriyan on July 21. A total of 154 films were submitted for the awards out of which 30 films reached the final rounds.
