As Mohanlal arrived with his wife Suchitra Mohanlal to receive the Dadasaheb Phalke Award, Shah Rukh warmly greeted the couple. In a moment that captured hearts, he arranged a chair for Suchitra, waiting patiently until she was comfortably seated before taking his own place.
Mohanlal on receiving cinema’s highest honour
Mohanlal’s big moment came when he was awarded the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Award, India’s highest recognition in cinema. Speaking to Asianet News, the actor revealed how surreal the honor felt. “I never even dreamed of this award. I dedicate it to everyone who loves Malayalam and Kerala. I thank the jury and the Government of India. At this moment, I remember the great actors who walked ahead of me… this award gives me energy for the journey ahead, but it also brings a responsibility — to think about what more I can do for cinema.” With more than 400 films to his credit across four decades, Mohanlal treated the moment not just as personal recognition, but as a tribute to Malayalam cinema itself.
On criticism, silence and AMMA role

The actor, who often chooses not to respond to controversies, was asked why he remains silent in the face of criticism. Mohanlal replied thoughtfully: “There’s no need to compete with critics. Everyone has their own reasons, and I have mine. My social responsibility is to do my work well. The successes and failures of films are not in my hands.” He also reflected on his time as president of the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA), dismissing claims that it was a burden. “The role was never a burden to me. It is an association that does many good things. Minor differences of opinion will arise, but that doesn’t erase the good being done.” Meanwhile, Mohanlal's recent outing is the Sathyan Anthikad's directorial 'Hridayapoorvam' which received good reviews. 'Hridayapoorvam' has crossed Rs 100 crores as officially revealed by the makers. The movie was directed by Sathyan Anthikad.
Mohanlal will be next seen in 'Drishyam 3' which is directed by Jeethu Joseph. The movie has started rolling.
