Aaha is a film offering hope for troubled times

Aaha

is a big budget,

sports film

based on

tug of war

. The family entertainer, set in a rustic backdrop, features the struggles and process behind the sport, and gives a peak into the internal struggles of each character. Above all, the film instills hope for a better tomorrow.

“Coming from a media background and having worked in Bollywood and closely with the fashion industry across the world, my idea was to make a regional film with international appeal. That’s when I met director Bibin Paul Samuel and writer Tobit Chirayath, and they narrated to me the story of this interesting drama full of freshness and energy,” says producer

“The process was not easy as we shot during the rains last year and in over 84 locations, for 62 days with about 160 crew members. It also features over 6,000 junior artistes.”

Produced under the banner of Zsazsa Productions, Aaha marks Bibin’s directorial debut; he is also the editor. Tobit has written the story, screenplay and dialogues. Sayanora Philip has scored the music. Celebrated Bollywood cinematographer Rahul Balachandran has handled camera. The film features Indrajith, Santhy Balachandran, Manoj K Jayan, Amit Chakalakkal, Ashwin Kkumar amd Sidhartha Siva. All the artistes underwent rigorous training to perform the stunts and contest sequences.
“I am in the advanced stages of discussions for two movies and a web series, one of which could be a Hollywood co-production, which I hope to annouce soon,” says the producer, who also has ventured into the online teaching space, offering online English courses for Malayalis.
