Last year,
Aashiq Abu’s directorial Virus was among the top 10 films in Mollywood, if not the entire Indian film industry. The critically and commercially acclaimed movie revolved around how the state of Kerala tackled the Nipah virus outbreak in Kozhikode.
The multi-starrer, which was scripted by Muhsin Parari, Sharfu and Suhas, was inspired by true incidents and real-life heroes from Kerala and had starred
Tovino Thomas,
Parvathy, Indrajith,
Kunchacko Boban, Joju George, Rima Kallingal and Soubin Shahir in pivotal roles.
Recently, the filmmaker was asked in an interactive Q&A session on his social media page, if he was planning a sequel for Virus. Aashiq said, “No.” The filmmaker will be teaming up with Soubin for his next film.
