The makers of the Malayalam film ‘Spa’ have postponed the release due to a nationwide strike on February 12. The film, written and directed by
Abrid Shine, was slated for release this Thursday, February 12.
In a post shared on Instagram on Tuesday, the makers said that they are pushing the release to February 13. “Due to the nationwide strike on February 12, the release of Spa, directed by Abrid Shine, has been postponed to February 13,” they said.
With the new release date, February 13, ‘Spa’ will clash with Rajesh Madhavan’s directorial debut ‘Pennum Porattum’ and Mathew Thomas and Devika Sanjay’s romantic comedy ‘Sukhamano Sukhamann’. The film will also lock horns at the box office with Anoop Menon’s investigative thriller ‘Ee Thani Niram’.

The upcoming film marks Abrid Shine’s return to direction after ‘Mahaveeryar’ released in 2022. The fantasy drama featured Nivin Pauly and Asif Ali in the lead roles.
‘Spa’ has an ensemble cast of Shruthy Menon, Sidharth Bharathan, Radhika Radhakrishnan, and Sreeja Das. ActorsPoojitha Menon, Rima Dutta, Sreelakshmi Bhatt, Neena Kurup, Megha Thomas, Vineeth Thattil, Prasanth Alexander, Vijay Menon, Dinesh Prabhakar, Major Ravi, Ashwin K Kumar, Srikant Murali, Kichus Tellus, and Joji K John, are also part of the cast.
On the technical side, the film’s cinematography is done by Swaroop Philip, and Manoj is in charge of the editing department. The music for the film is done by Ishaan Chhabra.
