Actress Jonita Doda has surely impressed the audiences with her stunning performance in the 3D romantic horror film 'Salmon 3D'. As the festive season approaches, actress Jonita Doda is brimming with excitement to welcome Lord Ganesha. In an exclusive conversation with ETimes, the 'Salmon 3D' actress shared her fondness for the beloved deity and the festival’s deeper meaning.


“Lord Ganesha is one of the most beloved deities of our country, worshipped as the Pratham Poojniye (before all others). While he is revered throughout the year, Ganesh Chaturthi holds a very special place in our hearts,” she said.


Jonita reflected on the festival’s historical roots, noting, “What began during the British era as a people’s movement has today become one of the grandest festivals of India, especially in Maharashtra. In Mumbai, we all eagerly wait for Bappa’s arrival. The 11 days are filled with devotion, festivity, traditional celebrations, and the joy of visiting friends and community Ganpati pandals to seek blessings. I am personally super excited to welcome Bappa and offer him his favorite modaks!”

Jonita's special prayer this year

While Jonita cherishes the celebrations, she also sees the festival as a moment for deeper reflection. Sharing her heartfelt wish for 2025, she said, “This year, my prayer is that Lord Ganesha blesses the world with more patience and wisdom, because we live in times where we must learn to ‘live and let live.’” The actress emphasized that in today’s fast-paced, often divided world, qualities like compassion and tolerance are more necessary than ever.

An advocate for sustainability, Jonita also urged her fans to remember the environment while celebrating. “As an environmentalist and an actor, I also urge everyone to celebrate responsibly — choose eco-friendly idols and immerse them at home or with mindfulness towards our natural water bodies. Our God will be happiest when we honor and respect the planet He created,” she said.

Looking ahead, Jonita revealed she has an exciting line-up of projects. “I have a Malayalam biggie lined up which I can’t reveal the details of right now, along with a Hindi film and a web series. Currently, I am actively working on my environmental project, Planet Over Profit,” she shared with a smile.
