After 22 long years, Mammootty is returning as one of his most loved characters, Karikkamuri Shanmughan from 'Black'. That character became very popular and stylish even though the movie didn't perform as expected at the box office. This time, Mammootty is not coming back as the hero. He will appear in a guest role.

Ranjith and Prakash Varma join hands

According to Asianet News reports, the new film is directed by Ranjith. The main role is played by 'Thudarum' fame Prakash Varma. This film brings Ranjith and Mammootty together again. Udaykrishna has written the script. Abhirami will also be seen in an important role. Many newcomers are part of the cast. Ranjith last directed a feature film eight years ago. His last movie was Mohanlal's 'Drama' in 2018 with Mohanlal.

A short but special appearance by Mammootty

Mammootty’s role as Shanmughan is a guest appearance. Reports say he has a five-day shooting schedule for the film. Even with a short role, fans are very excited as the character Shanmughan has a cult fan following. A location still of Mammootty as Shanmughan is already going viral on social media.

At the same time, Mammootty welcomed the New Year on the sets of his upcoming film 'Patriot'. He cut a cake with the team and shared wishes.
