The wife of late director Joseph Manu James, Naina, has accused actress Ahaana Krishna of not cooperating with the promotions of 'Nancy Rani,' a film directed by her late husband.
According to Naina, Ahaana has not shown even basic humanitarian consideration in supporting the film’s promotion.
As per Manorama Online reports, Naina made these allegations during the film’s press meet. The event, held in Kochi, was attended by other cast members, including Aju Varghese, Sohan Seenulal, and Devi Ajith. However, Ahaana, who plays a key role in the film, was absent.
Naina revealed that there had been minor issues between Ahaana and her late husband, but three years had passed since then. She believes Ahaana should have set aside any past differences and supported the film as a gesture of goodwill.
“I spoke to Ahaana, and so did the PRO and production team. There might have been some issues when Manu was alive, but it has been three years. Maybe she hasn’t forgotten, but even from a humanitarian perspective, she should have cooperated. I don’t know why she hasn’t,” said Naina during the press meet.
She further said that there have been many challenges, but discussing them openly is difficult in such a scenario. “Staying silent seems like the best option at the moment. However, when a lead actress refuses to support the film’s marketing and promotions, you can imagine how tough it is,” Naina stated.
During the press meet, Aju Varghese stated that he never thought the movie would see the light of day, and it was all due to Naina and her father’s efforts, along with the producers who made it happen.
Joseph Manu James passed away two years ago, and Naina has since taken over the production and release responsibilities of the movie.
After facing several setbacks, along with the demise of Joseph Manu James, the makers of ‘Nancy Rani’ have finally decided to release the movie on April 18, 2025.
