Akshay Radhakrishnan to play negative character in Vishnu Vishal-starrer 'Mohandas'

Actor Akshay Radhakrishnan’s enviable long hair has always been part of his characters too, so far.

Soon, he will be seen in a new short-hair avatar, that too in his first ever Tamil film. In the movie, titled Mohandas, starring Vishnu Vishal in the lead and directed by Murali Karthick, Akshay portrays a character with negative shades. The actor tells us, “The first half of the film gives my character some negative streaks. And then on, he goes into a hallucination mode. I have cut my hair, for the first time, for this film. The movie is a crime thriller that also shows the importance of sex education.” Its shoot, which was held in Vizag and Chennai, got over recently.

This will be Akshay’s first Tamil film, but the actor says he is comfortable with the language. “I did my college education in Chennai, so Tamil wasn’t a problem. However, my character in the movie is a Malayali, so I would be speaking like how a Keralite would speak Tamil,” Akshay explains. Akshay says Vishnu Vishal was fun to shoot with. “The impression we have here about Tamil film stars, generally, is that they are very standoffish. But, Vishnu used to always chat with us, about anything and everything, and even used to find time to have fun with the crew,” Akshay says. Earlier, it was reported that Vishnu plays a civil engineer in the film, which also has Indrajith Sukumaran and Aishwarya Rajesh in important roles. The film has music by KS Sundaramurthy and cinematography by Vignesh Rajagopalan.
