Amala Paul recalls during 'Aadujeevitham' she had to pad up her belly to look pregnant, and during the promotions, she is ‘actually pregnant’

Actress Amala Paul is eagerly anticipating the release of her upcoming film, ‘Aadujeevitham’. The film, helmed by Blessy, features Prithviraj Sukumaran in the lead role and Amala Paul as the leading lady. She is essaying the role of Sainu, the wife of the protagonist, Najeeb.

Amala Paul shot for the film in 2018, and during that time, she had to pad up her belly to look pregnant for the role. Interestingly, as the film is now hitting the big screens in 2024, she is actually pregnant. Amala Paul is expecting her first child with her husband, Jagat Desai. Recently, while talking to The Hindu, she said,“ “When I was shooting, I had to pad up my belly to look pregnant. And now, during the film’s promotions, I am actually pregnant.”Amala tied the knot with Jagat Desai on November 5, 2023, in Kerala.

She also revealed that her journey to becoming Sainu coincided with her spiritual journey. She shared that the film came to her when she was looking inward, traveling to the Himalayas, and exploring yoga and meditation.

Speaking about the input she received from director Blessy on playing the part, Amala Paul said, “He facilitates a deep understanding of the story and the characters, their background and backstory.”

Amala also expressed that the character Sainu she plays in the film is strong and ambitious.


Helmed by Blessy, ‘Aadujeevitham’ is set to hit the big screens on March 28.
