Amid Pushpa 2 success, old video of Fahadh Faasil talking about his role Shekhawat goes viral: 'The film hasn’t done anything for me...'

Pushpa 2: The Rule, the much-awaited sequel starring Allu Arjun and directed by Sukumar, was released in theaters on December 5, 2024. Allu Arjun returns as Pushpa Raj, while Fahadh Faasil plays the antagonist, Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat. The film continues Pushpa’s story but has received mixed reactions, especially regarding Fahadh Faasil's character, with some fans feeling his role doesn't showcase his full talent.

Following the film’s release, an older interview clip of Fahadh Faasil with journalist Anupama Chopra for Film Companion has resurfaced, going viral on social media.



In the video, the National Award-winning actor expressed his dissatisfaction with the Pushpa sequel, mentioning that the film didn't contribute to his growth as an artist. He also shared that he had discussed his feelings with director Sukumar and emphasized his focus on his work in Malayalam cinema.

This comment has led to speculation that Fahadh may have anticipated the audience's possible disappointment with his role in Pushpa 2.



Rumours are rife that Fahadh has decided not to be part of Pushpa 3: The Rampage, the third installment of the franchise. While Pushpa 2 leaves Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat's fate uncertain, the introduction of a new antagonist in the film's climax suggests Fahadh may be exiting.

Reports also suggest that the actor intends to focus on more meaningful, performance-oriented roles in Malayalam cinema, rather than supporting roles in big commercial films.
