Ann Sheetal is breaking new ground as a woman drone videographer

Ann Sheetal seems to have some pretty eclectic interests. Apart from honing her interest in

longboarding

during the quiet lockdown days, the young Kochi based actor is now trying to perfect her skill with

drone

videography. She has been posting short videos shot using drones and the view she provides with her camera is very impressive.

“I’ve been fascinated by drones and have been trying my hand at this since September,” says the

Ishq

actor, who taught herself to do the drone videography with the help of online tutorials. “I bought the drone in Bangalore and have been practising on it.” Her latest video starts with a close up that zooms out to provide a panoramic view of the verdant Wayyanad hills.

“The drone comes with an amazing 4K video and while you operate it with the remote control, you can monitor the flight path on your mobile phone,” she explains. “I want to get better at this and then move on to flying the FPV (first person view) which gives a very different dynamic.”

If it all seems like the very gadgety talk that you are most likely to hear from guys, it does seem Ann is breaking new ground as a girl doing drone videography. “It doesn’t seem to be something that many girls are into. I think there are women trying their hand at this in other places, but I believe there aren’t any women in Kerala doing this; at least, that’s what my ‘drone mates’ tell me,” she says.
