Anurag Kashyap's debut Malayalam film starts rolling in Mundakkayam

After his stints in Tamil, in Nayanthara-starrer Imaikkaa Nodigal and Vijay’s Leo, Bollywood director Anurag Kashyap will be making his Malayalam debut in Ashiq Abu’s Rifle Club. The film's first schedule began at Mundakkayam in Kottayam.
The project will also have a cast filled with prominent names, including Dileesh Pothan, Vishnu Agasthya, Vani Viswanath, Vijayaraghavan, Vincy Aloshious, Ramzan Muhammed, Surabhi Lakshmi, and Unnimaya Prasad.

Buzz is that Anurag will portray a negative role. Confirming the news about his Malayalam debut, the
director posted the announcement video on his social media page and wrote, “Announcing my first
Malayalam film as an actor with Ashiq Abu. Looking forward to be part of the great moment of Malayalam cinema (sic).”
During the International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK), in December, Anurag, who was in attendance for the screening of his film Kennedy, had hinted at his Malayalam debut. The film, which is targeting an Onam release, will see Ashiq Abu donning the hat of cinematographer again.
