Mohanlal’s directorial debut film ‘Barroz’ is unfortunately getting less traction from the audiences due to the underwhelming reviews and the tough competition from ‘Marco’ and ‘Rifle Club’ which are getting good reviews from the audiences.

According to the Sacnilk website, ‘Barroz’ has only managed to mint Rs 9.04 crores from India in 6 days and on the 6th day, the movie has made Rs 29 lakhs from the country as per the early estimates by the website.

The day 6 collections show a huge dip from the day 5 collections which stood at Rs 1.35 crores. The day-wise collections for the Mohanlal starrer are not indicating a good sign for Mohanlal’s directorial debut fantasy film.

‘Barroz’ had opened with a strong Rs 3.45 crore at the box office which was followed by Rs 1.6 crore, Rs 1.1 crore, Rs 1.25 crore, Rs 1.35 crore, and Rs 29 lakhs on days 1 till 5. Considering it’s a Mohanlal film, the collections are quite underwhelming and it’s unsure whether the film will be able to hold many more days in the cinemas.

In a recent interview with India Today, Mohanlal responded to the movie’s poor performance at the box office. The ‘Drishyam’ actor said, “So, this is not about the numbers or the money. I want to make something and give it to the audience. This is a gift for them, for their respect and love over the last 47 years. This is a gift, an offering from me to them. I have given a children-friendly film that families can watch together. It will also tickle the child in you,"

On the other hand, the audiences are eagerly waiting for the actor’s upcoming films ‘L2: Empuraan’, ‘Thudarum’, and ‘Ram’.
