‘Barroz’ OTT: Mohanlal’s directorial debut starts streaming
Those who have missed Mohanlal’s directorial film ‘Barroz’ on the big screens, here’s a chance to watch the fantasy film online.
‘Barroz’ will be available to stream on Disney Plus Hotstar OTT platform. The streaming platform shared the release update via a Tweet that read, “In a world of seekers, uncover the legend of the ultimate treasure. #Barroz is now streaming exclusively on Disney+ Hotstar in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada. #DisneyPlusHotstar #DisneyPlusHotstarMalayalam #Barroz #Mohanlal #TheCompleteActor #Fantasy #PeriodDrama.”
Meanwhile, the movie seems to be getting cold responses even after the OTT release. One comment read, “After watching all these scenes in the movie, I felt hate towards the director who made out Mohanlal do all such things, but later i realised it’s Lalettan himself who directed it.” Another comment read, “2000's Tv serial 2.0.” A third one comment read, “The 3d effects were exceptional in theatre . Unfortunately the actor Mohanlal couldn’t save the director Mohanlal.”
On the other hand, ETimes exclusive review for the film reads, “The film has everything that can charm children. It primarily caters to the younger audience for sure, be it plot or the fantastical world built around it. There is the mysterious titular Barroz, played by Mohanlal himself; then there is Voodoo, more for the comic effect and assisting Barroz in his task than anything else; and the heir of the 13th generation of Portuguese explorer Da Gama's family, Isa Ron, played by Maya Rao West, who also doubles as Isabella da Gama. Mohanlal has, as always, tried to shoulder the film as an actor too. However, the remaining casting choices of the film remain a mystery. The plot of the film revolves around the genie-like Barroz, who was once a Malabari slave working for Da Gama, guarding the treasures of the family and waiting to hand it over to his heir. It is based on the novel 'Barroz: Guardian of D'Gama's Treasures' by Jijo Punnoose.”
